Ft Morgan – And the prize goes to…..
From Haley (Bon Secour NWR) June 11th
We got another nest on the refuge this morning along with two false crawls! The first false crawl looked suspiciously like a nest with thrown sand and trampled vegetation but we dug the whole mound up and found no eggs. The nest that was reported by USGS last night was located on the Perdue unit, about half-way down the west side! Vicki and I dug for awhile but of course it took Matt only about a minute to find the eggs! The other false crawl was also on the Perdue unit on the east side. It looks like we are getting some more activity on that part of the refuge so hopefully we will get some more nests over there soon!
