We have been monitoring three nests closely. After the sudden storm yesterday, Donna checked the nests. All was ok. I went to do a mid-afternoon check around three and found a big sinkhole at I-2. I stayed at the nest and around 5:30 Susie came. I had dug the trench and all was ready for the emergence of the babies. I went home for a break knowing the nest was in good hands. Also Jackie P & Rick were coming for sunset duty. Rick spotted possible flipper tips at the bottom of the sinkhole at dusk dark. I hurried back out to the nest. Rick & Jackie walked down the beach to check I-1 & I-3. Newbie Richard, Susie, Herman & I witnessed a major “boil” soon after Herman & I arrived. Thanks to Gale for alerting the team and to all who came to witness the march to sea. Job well done, team! This nest was not relocated. We saw 102 hatchlings to the water. Rosie and Mitch stayed on until the wee hours. All is quiet this morning. I cannot wait to see what adventure today has in store!
