The turtle fun continued afterwards at Fiddlefish restaurant.
then on to H-2 where we escorted 1 more hatchling to the water at 1:30 am. Excavation tonight – weather permitting – at 6:30 pm. Only 38 hatchlings have emerged so far and there were 145 eggs. Also the nest was still active when the weather moved in this morning.

Hatching season will continue on into late September with a few nests lasting into early October. There is no organized visitor tour program, however anyone is welcome to visit and observe nests during hatching and their ultimate excavation 3 days after initial hatching. Due to parking and crowd issues we do not publish exact locations of our nests. Since you have been reading the blog you should be able to identify a sea turtle nest near hatching if you happen upon one while at the beach.
