H-7 (Hampton Inn) – Well after we (Beach Ambassadors) discovered a surprise depression on day 54 at 3:15 pm at H-7, tarping was done early and nest sitting started! Waterfalls continued but no signs of turtles at the top by daylight this morning as reported by Tina. btw. Tks so much to Jerrie, Lance and Michele for getting to the nest before 4:00 pm to help tarp and keep watchful eye! Also, Tks to Cindy, Karen, Cathy for your support! [UPDATE: H-7 hatched abt 1:45 -2:45 am. 82 babies to the water!! Thanks so much to Jerrie, Michele, Mark, Tina K. For making it out to help. It was a special memorable event as we had Gwen’s family and a honeymoon couple there for the private showing ! Excavation Wednesday 6:00.]
H-5 excavation complete. 104 eggs with 99 to the water, 1 dead embryo, 4 infertile. 95% hatching rate!!!! Great nest!!! Thanks to Tina, Lila, Jane, Norm, Mary for your help!! Love this nest, not moved, Tarped, hatched and excavated in less than a week!!! Wow!!
H-6 (Cotton Bayou) produced 2 more babies last night just after 8:00. Tks to Gayle, Tina K, Jane and Norm for taking care of those 2. Total 83 babies and 38 unaccounted for. We think it is still active. Excavation today (Aug 15th) at 6:00 pm.
