July 9: From Lisa G (OB Team Leader)
H-20 ( that sounds so strange) was found this morning by Jane (subbing for Cathy) in section C. She was a late morning nester in that she was heading to the water about 5:30am this morning when Ben with Perdido Beach Services saw her!!! Ben was flagging down Jane as she approached. […clip…] Her crawl width measured 38″ so we hope she was the same Momma trying so desperately to nest in that area the night before. If so, she figured out the best time to avoid all those crazy crabbers.
Once again, the loungers stopped her. I can’t help but think if the loungers were gone she would have kept going towards the dunes and we would not have had to relocate.
Jane , in Norms absence, marked the area where the eggs would be found and voila Lila found the eggs in record time and 98 were safely relocated by the awesome teamwork of Jane and Lila!
Thanks greatly to our super team: Jane, Norm, Lila, Tommie, Mark, Tina, Jerrie, Sherry, Jude, Cindy, Loran.
Re-stocked for 2 more nests – see you on the beach!!
