Gulf State Park again!

August 7th: From Joe Spafford (GSP Team Lead)
Well this one is in the books. The nest produced 4 turtles from 92 eggs, not such a good record but remember this one was under water for a day. The first turtle emerged Thursday night followed by three more last night (Saturday 6 Aug). At least the team got to see them to the water. We had lots of visitors to this nest and the biggest crowd was there for turtle #1. We sure had a good turnout for the excavation, thanks to all of you for the help.
Team members present were: Aimee, Bob, Cathy, Michelle, Patti, Jean, Maureen, Doug, Carolyn, Brooks, Alyson, Jake, Lynn, Susanna, Darla, along with leaders Fran, Neal, and Joe. Many brought family along with them and we all had a good time. I hope this gets the ball rolling and we get many more baby turtles soon.
Joe
