Ft Morgan – And the prize goes to…..
We were able to patrol most of the refuge this morning and unfortunately a few of our nests were inundated because of the storm. However, we still have a few nests that were only partially inundated and some that are almost completely dry! That one mama who laid her nest at the top of the dune at the Fort knew what she was doing! We got some more great pictures this morning thanks to Morgan Coombs. Thanks Morgan! The flocks of terns were out this morning and we even saw two Black Skimmers feeding (see picture)! We also got a new nest this morning which was BS10! This nest was far enough up the beach that it did not need to be relocated. Now that the storm is past the water level will return to normal and we will get some more turtles coming in to nest soon!
