Crazy Turtles – Ft Morgan

August 2nd: From “The Debs” (FM team Leads)

We had 2 nest and 4 false crawls today on Fort Morgan. AND.  A 22 , which was on the list to tarp tonight. Got a call that people had turtles in their pool. Got to 3604 Ponce De Leon thinking the turtles must be from A 15 which is at 3596 Ponce…other side of the house. Babies were everywhere. Kids where coming up to me with palms outstretched holding babies.  They had gotten them all out of the pool and had them in a little blow up raft.  Called in Jane Lee and we got babies from the underneath of houses on both sides, in the dunes, in the road.  We found a total at 54 babies and got them to the water. They did not come from tarped nest 15, but day 54 nest number 22.

We are excited to have a new volunteer tonight, Melody Goldson. We have seen her many mornings cleaning the beach at Kiva. Rick and Barb recruited her!
